Wednesday, September 4

  2:00 – 5:30PM Registration for Members/ORCA Store/Silent Auction setup
6:00 – 9:00PM Get Together and Dinner at Gibby’s Restaurant, at short walk from the hotel
Guest Speaker: Roger Herrett, 1946 Junior National Casting Champion! (Roger’s dad was 1928 National Casting Champ)

Thursday, September 5

  Morning Silent Auction begins
7:00AM – noon Fishing Contest on The Legendary Elkhorn Creek with canoes for those wanting the full taste of fishing opportunities
7:30 – 8:45AM Walking Tour of Fort Hill with Betty
9:00 – 10:30AM Bus Tour of Frankfort with Russ Hatter for 30 people
10:30 – 11:30AM Tour of the Old State Capitol
12:00 – 1:30PM Lunch on our own
1:30 – 3:00PM Casting Contest and Ugly Reel Toss on the lawn the hotel
1:30 – 3:00PM Tour of Historic Buffalo Trace Distillery
3:30 – 4:15PM Presentation by Currey Gayle on the Gayle Reels
4:30 – 5:15PM Presentation by the Milam Family on their heirloom collection and family history
6:00 – 9:00PM Banquet at The Center for Kentucky History catered by STAXX (The Center’s unique collection of KY Reels will be displayed for our convention. It has only been shown one other time in the early 1980’s!)

7:00 – 8:30AM Tour of the Frankfort Cemetery with Doug Carpenter
8:30 – 12:00PM Registration Table and ORCA Store
9:00 – 10:30AM Walking Tour of South Frankfort including the Meek house
10:30 – 12:00 Tour of the Capital City Museum and the Clark Center for Kentucky History
12:15 – 1:30PM Lunch on our own
1:00 – 6:00PM Setup for show and displays
1:30 – 2:15PM Presentation by Jerome Redfearn on Kentucky Silversmiths
2:30 – 3:00PM Presentation by Ron Gast on BF Meek Reels
5:00PM Silent Auction Ends
6:00 – 9:00PM Closing Banquet at Hotel
Speaker: Russ Hatter, curator/historian at the Capital City Museum

Saturday September 7

  All Day till 4:00PM Show for Members and Public of the Most Extensive Collection of Kentucky Reels ever displayed
Judging of Displays
11:30 – 1:00PM Box Lunches provided by Hotel
